"Water making" development story Water story Part 2 What is good water and good soil?

Since making two movies about water in 1972,

By the time you make a full-fledged water-themed movie

It took 17 years.

In 1989, three 60-minute books of "Natural Science of Soil and Water" (Agriculture, Treatment, Theory)

In addition, 3 bottles of 60 minutes each for dairy, pig farming, poultry farming, farming, theory, food processing, and domestic wastewater treatment.

There are 6 in total.

This "Natural Science of Soil and Water" was written by Dr. Mamoru Uchimizu , a doctor of science and a volcanologist at the University of Tokyo at that time .

I visualized it as a documentary film.

The main point of the content is

"Good soil makes good water, good water makes good soil"

It introduced the basic principles of the earth's nature based on the facts of the field.

What exactly is "good water"?

I couldn't tell at the time,

Dr. Uchimizu, who advocated this principle and created the site, could see it.

Therefore, I asked Dr. Uchimizu to visit the site where the video was made.

I recorded it by recording the whole story there.

The shooting period is 6 months, and the recording VTR is 1 hour, 200 shots.

While transcribing it all and watching it repeatedly,

Now that I can see the difference in water, I understand the reality of the natural principle.

Many things change when you keep livestock in "good water".

In "dairy cows", the number of ruminations (taken out of the first stomach and repeatedly chewed and sent to the second stomach) increases.

Subsequently, the foul odor of feces disappears, the hair becomes glossier, and the milk quality improves.

The proportion of fat, non-fat milk, and protein in milk increases, and somatic cells decrease.

Somatic cells are cells that come off in the breast and are like dandruff on the head.

The fact that this is a lot means that the dairy cows are not in good health.

Less is evidence of good health and, of course, better milk quality.

A lot of things happen at the same time in "pig farming", but I will omit it.

* The commentary page will be released soon

In "poultry farming", the bad odor of feces is drastically reduced, so the bad odor peculiar to the poultry house is reduced.

And the egg laying rate goes up,

Egg rupture rate (injured eggs that cannot be sold) is reduced,

Egg quality will improve.

The mortality rate (the rate at which babies die shortly after childbirth) has also declined.

Even if you put a strange chicken in the gauge, you will not get sick,

Feces will also ferment naturally.

Also, if you treat food processing wastewater and domestic wastewater with "good soil",

First of all, the stench disappears and it can be returned to rivers and nature

It can be "good water".

The principle was the same as the "activated sludge method" introduced last time.

But this time, what is "active sludge = soil"? Where is it?

That is clarified in the theory section.

Dr. Mamoru Uchimizu explained the principle of creating "active mud".

Draw a simple diagram on the whiteboard to solve it.

It is difficult to explain it without using figures, but I will introduce it in sentences.

"In the natural terrain facing the sea, there is a place with a slightly open shape with the thumb and index finger together.

In the center, there is a pond = swamp where rain = water flows from the surrounding mountains.

In the swamp, corpses and dead bodies of surrounding organisms = animals and plants are concentrated.

Since the swamp is open to the sea, seawater comes in and out due to the ebb and flow of the tide.

And there is a volcano nearby and volcanic ash falls.

In such a place, the most advanced and active bottom soil is created to handle all the loads of nature.

This method utilizes the soil that was born over hundreds of millions of years to restore the nature destroyed by modern civilization. "
